Travel Journal - London 2024 - Day 0 - Business Class Flight (Sept 4, 2024)
My first big trans-Atlantic trip after retirement was to London in the UK, primarily to attend a Space:1999 convention. But I had never been to London before, so I gave myself an extra week before the convention to explore!
I treated myself to Air Canada Business class, and WOW!! I am so ruined for "regular" flights now. Business class grants access to the Air Canada Lounge in Calgary; it was so nice to have a quiet place before my flight, and the free drinks & food didn't hurt either!
Delicious Sliders! |
Boarding the plane, I turned LEFT to get to my pod - seat 4A. Once settled in, I was offered a sparkling drink - either wine or water (guess which one I chose!) - and then the flight departs.

Can't help being a happy traveller in Business Class! |
After a few glasses of port, I settled in for a sleep. Love the lay-flat pods! And with their noise-cancelling headphones and one of those "Calm"-like sound tracks, it was easy to drift off to sleep.
After a somewhat restful sleep, I arose about 1.5 hours before landing and then breakfast was served. (Sorry, I forgot to take photos of breakfast). And out the window, I could see the islands around Ireland and then England after that.
